“Don’t take life too seriously; you’ll never get out alive.”
–Elbert Hubbard
While us creative geeks salivate for the latest innovations from the Apple and Google workshops (some weird Pavlovian thing…), it’s fun to take a step back and see how ridiculous we really are. Our team selected the top five best geeky parodies from the YouTube library. We think you’ll enjoy this distraction from what you’re really supposed to be doing. Enjoy and share your favorite videos in the comments:
1. Google Super Bowl Parody
Google debuted its first search commercial during this year’s Super Bowl. “The Google Super Bowl Parody” tells the story of a sad man’s unrequited love, loneliness and path to murder — so not only can you use Google to learn French for your trip to Paris, but it’s also a great resource for serial killers to find hookers and ball gags.
2. How Star Trek Should Have Ended
Disappointed with Star Trek’s happy ending? “How Star Trek Should Have Ended” takes a realistic spin of the Young Captain Kirk’s inexperience and stupidity. The ending is for George Lucas fans…
3. Hilter Upset with the New iPad
Hitler: “It could have been amazing.” No, he’s not talking about the Third Reich. This Apple iPad parody adapts Hitler’s final days in a bunker to the supreme disappointment in Apple’s new tablet.
4. iDon’t Care
With Apple’s competitive attitude (think Mac VS PC), this could very well be the next Apple commercial. “iDon’t Care” is a parody of Google’s iDon’t Android campaign with a combative ending: “iCame First.”
5. Google Buzz Parody
Google can sometimes be a control freak (“I want to organize the world’s information”). This parody of Google Buzz speaks to this controlling, big brother attitude, while poking fun at geeky Google users.
