Dear Ethan,

Thank you for your blog. This is a fascinating and exiting area of commerce that you are looking to explore in following blogs.

I believe the success of social entrepreneurs and the cause-driven businesses as you describe them are vital, if not paramount to our future and that perhaps this area of business is the renaissance in thought (and action) of our time.
If we, as i suspect a vast number people do worldwide, seek to repair the environment and tackle global social injustices, then the social entrepreneur and the social economy she/he seeks to create is a key element of this mission.
Business has caused a huge amount of the problems that are ever-present and endemic in our world and therefore i believe business is the key to changing the world we live in.

To achieve this 'social economy' we need to be social entrepreneurs ourselves and be the change we so desperately need and deserve.

If you want to do something with Food Not Bombs please ask as we are very principled and would not want to promote anything corporate. The New York Times has already taken our logo for it's food section. We organize many concerts and will have a free concert "Soupstock" in the Boston Commons on May 23, 2010.
You can make a donation at www.foodnotbombs.net which would really help. We also would love it even more if you joined our started a local Food Not Bombs chapter. Give us a call and we will be happy to help.
Love Keith
cofounder of the Food Not Bombs movement
